For those of you who were like me trying to figure out if this part would work for the MerryChef 402s, yes it works. To be clear, this is the part that lives inside the heating chamber -- square plate covers held by a couple bolts that protect the fan/heat mechanism. It seems to be made of a glass material. The original plate that broke off was made of ceramic. I tried replacing it with a custom cut steel plate but it turned out to get too hot for the unit to work properly. This material worked.
